"Looking forward to a fresh new Monday :-)"
19th of April this is how I had finished writing about my journey in Mahindra Group Tech Mahindra and ended with what I thought was a quip combined with a message of the future always being bright .(https://lnkd.in/e5C2NZBp )
4 months and 17 Monday's later, each of which was bright and brought in many learning experiences -- especially as one transitions from a corporate world of 31 years to an entrepreneurial world - resetting and unlearning many that I took for granted, attempting to shed some bad habits that one developed over the years , owning small yet critical tasks from airlines and hotel booking to booking cabs to seeking meetings, however inspite of all the trials and tribulations the independence of decision making triumphs over all and most importantly grateful of the support from my family, friends, industry colleagues, the support staff and colleagues at TechM who would call in regularly and check on how I am doing.. 💕
I used the time to travel, meet people, enjoy live sport but most importantly think through the ideas and the critical learning that I picked up talking to businesses , alliance partners and industry colleagues, they all in unison emphasised the need for ACUMEN in technology and industry solutions so that they can be understood and implemented effectively(quality of talent ), focussing on the need to be AGILE in your response(build repeatability) and finally ACCELERATE the deployment (faster go to market).
With all the learnings around next gen technologies I recognized humanization of tech is what makes it endearing .. its the people and culture that matters.
While all this was happening I realised today is a monday and its 19th too. Good time , Good week for a fresh new start.( what say ?) .. watch this space ...
Hello Future
I wrote my journey a few weeks back ( https://lnkd.in/gHnF5JyU )
This weekend was the culmination of that learning journey from the School that is Mahindra & Tech Mahindra.
In this journey so far - I have mentioned colleagues and leaders, in this post I want to thank those that have been teachers 24X7, the youngsters Udatta Paresh Rahul Vikram Goel Rahul Shresth Shashank Bhargav Anveshita Rohan and Mrigank - helping me being relevant - from my digital guru's to challenging the norm and most times challenging me - they truly were my sounding board.
The next lot are the ones that have made sure I am able to focus on the job - be it our drivers Meghshyam, Milan, Gopal, Sriram, Ramesh, Ashish or Ravi each one of them dealt with unearthly hours and most importantly always had a smile. The admin teams in each location Ruth, Maya , Rajesh , Jaideep, Biplab Surinder Singh and their leader CVN ( a rock star) and Vipin Saad. Finally its those that we proudly call EA but i think we shud change that nomenclature to LL ( Life Line) - for me its been Juliet, Priyanka and Kameshwari ( Kams I proudly call my sister – no other relationship would tolerate another person like she has ).
Wrapping up the journey
It could be many from SEEPZ to NSEZ OR could be from hair to no hair ( I think many will resonate to this image of mine ) .. 31 years passed too fast. Whether it was taking the auto in Andheri east to office , or London underground to Aldgate or I 75 to Hartsfield Airport Atlanta. The journey was always full of excitement and opportunity. From being a “Out “ Standing student in school to having a seat at the board room . From Sales in Pimpri to new markets ME, APJ, India & North America From sales in US to Marketing & Strategy of the company to creating Mobility and Managed service practice, SportsTech & GCL to CEO of CanvasM to business unit head of APJ & India to growing alliances, large deals & enterprise business From the last bench in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra to learning at Nashik to ISB, Yale , IMD and Harvard exec learning programs From student committee at university to EC at NASSCOM and Chair at FICCI Science and Tech From being chased by cops in Bihar to doing some social good as a part of our Tech Mahindra Foundation Finally the best of it all from a single child in a nuclear family to a multi cultural global family of Mahindra Group I hope during this journey I have enabled the organisation to RISE .. for me personally its been only a RISE story – and I have only Gratitude for all of the family The get togethers celebrating the journey in Pune Tech Mahindra Noida and in Delhi were super special !
Finally my parents, my wife Urmi, my boys Jeet and Jishnu for their support
Thank you all for your love, generosity and kindness....
