Hi, all! Long time no talk. I’ve got a story to tell.
If you know me, you almost certainly know of my deep passion for music. I’ve been playing instruments and learning to create records for almost as long as I’ve been able to read and write!
In the fall of 2021, the universe dealt me a handful of very clear signs that it was time to pursue my dream of making a living through my passion.
I decided early on that teaching music would be one of the most impactful ways that I could apply my talent, and that has turned out to be profoundly true. I’ve been meeting with a small roster (~12 to 15) students weekly for the past year and a half, and it has filled me with endless joy.
I’ve also worked as an independent music producer with artists in the soul, hip-hop, indie, and R&B worlds. This has long been my primary creative ambition, and I’m deeply thankful to be able to work with such talented and incredible creators.
While I love both of these pursuits, I’ve also sought to find a means of scaling my passion and expertise to the musical masses.
Finally, this past winter, an idea began to take form in my mind.
I’ve spent thousands of hours learning how to produce, record, and mix music professionally over the past 5+ years. While there are many people marketing products to early-stage music creators, I find that most of them are lacking in one essential category - soul.
Soul is the essence of true creation. How we express ourselves, our thoughts, and our emotions through music is at the heart of why we choose to create in the first place.
Yet I’ve found that most music businesses are recycling the same generic sounds, ideas, and resources.
That’s why I decided to found Open Soul.
Open Soul is my way of making advanced music production and soulful sounds accessible to anyone.
