It's all jokes people, settle down. Well, it's mostly jokes. Sometimes? But really, are the guys from South Park writing this NIL thing??

***I am not affiliated with Darren at all so don't blame him. BUT huge thanks to his amazing weekly NIL Newsletter for keeping it real and inspiring this to-be-timeless work of art. Click on his name and subscribe NOW.

This morning On3 published their newsletter citing the states of #Gerogia and #Florida sounding the alarm on NIL Club and how they are conducting business in the High School NIL Space.

As I have mentioned previously, my son (a 2027) along with 100s of his classmates here in New Jersey, also received messaging from NIL Club to join his "High School NIL Club".

To me, the less concerning element is the fact that NIL Club is in clear violation of the NJSIAA rules regarding High School NIL and "collectives".

To me, the most concerning element here - and one I believe NIL Club co-founder Mick Assaf needs to answer for - is HOW.

➡ How, exactly, did NIL Club obtain and the #data to specifically target these High School Student-Athletes - at least here in #NJ, it was across graduation years and sports.
➡ What other companies were involved? I'm sure other minors were targeted...so how did this happen?
➡ Who is verifying any business or individual in any capacity at the High School level???

As a parent I'd love some answers.

As a professional who has been successfully navigating the very, very murky waters of High School NIL and actually putting standards and process in place, I'm concerned.

I have done my best to work with the decision makers here, but have been met with nothing but resistance, been told it's not an issue...that if a poor decision is made it's "the parent's fault".

We need to do better, and we need to do it before some unlucky family ends up a headline.
