Jake Rothschild is an Atlanta-based chef, entrepreneur, community organizer, and urban farmer.23 He is the Executive Director at Irwin Street Community Kitchens and The Cooking School at Irwin Street.1 He is also the founder of Jake's Ice Cream.12

Rothschild has been in the specialty foods business for over 20 years and is passionate about food, from growing it to developing recipes to retail packaging.3 In 2009, he created Irwin Street Community Kitchens, a 7000-foot facility that helps others from concept to market.34 Irwin Street Community Kitchens is one of three official shared kitchen concepts sanctioned by the Georgia State Department of Agriculture.3

Rothschild owns Irwin Street Market, which retails handcrafted, artisan foods from all over Metro Atlanta.23 He also owns Sweet Selma Farms in College Park, which specializes in pecans, figs, eggs, and herbs.3 Rothschild was born in Chapel Hill, NC, and has called Atlanta home for the last 30 years.3 He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Gaston Day.1
