Military Career
Jake served 14 years in the United States Army, starting as an enlisted artilleryman and later becoming a Warrant Officer flying CH-47 Chinook Helicopters. During his service, he deployed to Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Honduras.12
Post-Military Career
After leaving the military, Jake focused on supporting the military-connected community, startups, entrepreneurs, federal and state agencies, and the nonprofit sector.2
Entrepreneurship Support
In 2016, Jake co-founded Bunker Labs Seattle in Washington state, aiming to build an entrepreneur ecosystem for the military-connected community transitioning from active duty to entrepreneurship. He established relationships with major organizations such as the Schultz Family Foundation, Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, and Starbucks.2
Jake later served as the West Regional Director for Bunker Labs National, leading the launch of nine new chapters. His most recent role was as the National Resource Director for Bunker Labs, supporting their flagship program Veteran in Residence. Over five years, he advised hundreds of companies, many of which became successful.2
Personal Life
Jake lives in Tacoma, Washington, with his wife Janna and their two daughters, Josephine and Aubree.12 He maintains long-lasting friendships, including a 20-year friendship with a fellow servicemember he met during flight school in 2005.3
