Highlights
James, What’s Next? How Can I Help? I'm excited to return to the San Francisco Bay Area this summer, eager to embark on new challenges that await me back home.
I'll be back just in time to pace the San Francisco Marathon on July 28th! If you're also running or just want to run together sometime, feel free to reach out and let's connect!
During my time away, I've worn various domestic and work hats, including contributing to some cool companies through sales enablement and manager development consulting projects. Now, I'm searching for my next opportunity and would love your help!
What am I looking for? -A company with an intentional culture and that is doing impactful work. -An IC -> Manager Role (title isn't important). -A role connected with my experiences and strengths in SAAS Sales Enablement and People Operations (employee, front-line management and leadership development).
This is how you could help. Do you… -work for a company that might be a good fit? -have an open role or an amazing manager? -have advice to help me find my next opportunity?
If you said yes to any of the above, drop me a line.
Or, if you want to just talk about my book or the past 5 years, I’d love that too.
If we haven’t talked in a while (even never), the more reason for us to chat. I’m an open book. 😄
James, what have you been up to over the past 5 years? (2019-2024)
In 2019, my family and I left the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Berlin and then Hong Kong, using each city as a base to explore Europe and Asia respectively.
Why? To explore a life Beyond the American Dream.
I kept a weekly reflection journal called Purposefully Lost to document all 250ish weeks (and counting). https://lnkd.in/gagcNDC4
And a year ago, I decided to write a book. It forced me to make sense of the recent past. I broke it out into two parts:
🤔 Redefining Our Path - Challenging the conventional route and embracing an alternative path that enables us to be fully engaged, crafting unforgettable moments together.
😬 Our Journey Unscripted - As we adventured, we had much to learn about navigating our expectations and realities while moving and traveling abroad during a world-changing pandemic.
The memoir launches on April 23rd and you can preorder it now. https://a.co/d/eO2imQX
I recommended it, “But you don’t need to take my word for it...”
I encourage you to read Goodreads reviews from early advanced readers to see if this book is for you.
