Highlights
After 9 years I've made the decision to leave Intel to pursue an opportunity at Meta. While the years go by quickly, the mark that so many amazing people have left on me will certainly last a lifetime. A huge thank you to: Wendell Brooks and Brian Krzanich for demonstrating what risk taking in pursuit of a vision looks like, the Intel Sports leadership team (Yariv Trabelsi, Jeff Chasen, Sandra Lopez, Ted Chen, Paul Kandel, Nadia Banks, Keri Carkeek, Debi Mikesh) for the partnership and grit required to create a new experience based on ground breaking technology #volumetricvideo. Bob Swan, Josh Walden, and George Napier thank you for your mentorship and belief in me. To teammates over the Intel years: Jeffrey Clark, James Cole, Alec Gefrides, Charlie Huang, Chris Long, Danielle Mastrangel Brown, James Jackson, Jeff Jonas, Brett Lyons, Thien Nguyen, Stephanie Salas-Snyder, Sankar (Jay) Jayaram, David Aufhauser… I look back on our time together with pride and admiration for both what we were able to accomplish and the joy of the journey to get there. And last but certainly not least, props to the entire Intel Sports team and the larger Sports Tech community who have who made this last leg of my Intel journey the most gratifying work of my career. To all the other partners I'm privileged to have in my network, thank you for the part you played in my career. There is so much thanks to give. For now, I enjoy some downtime with my family, non-stop baseball and softball games, and hopefully some woodshop. Then I'll get going in my new role at the end of the month. Here we go!
Sports and the media industry are in the process of a huge technology revolution to create content and experiences to connect with fans through remote production. Even before the pandemic shook the world, Intel Sports had taken innovative steps to transfer volumetric video processing of Intel True View to the Cloud. In this paper, Phani Vadali (She/Her), Director of Technology, and Waldo Bastian, Sr. Cloud Solutions Architect, dig deeper to show how to successfully run Cloud operations for the sports and media industry. #IAmIntel #SportsTech
