Music has been a passion of mine since I was a kid and one of my favorite songs is Sophia Loren’s ‘What Is This Thing They Call Love.’ It is sung in Greek and there is a line that (roughly) translates to, “What is it? Laughter, tears, sunshine, rain…its end and its beginning.”

I can’t think of a better way to sum up the last seven years at Cricket Health. The experience building the company from just a PowerPoint deck to the merger this past week is one that I wouldn’t trade for anything else.

I’d like to express my gratitude to Arvind and Vince, who gave me the opportunity to join them as a co-founder and take a front-row seat on this adventure. You showed me what it means to build a company with integrity and resilience and, for that, I’ll always be grateful. I’d like to thank my wife, Christine, for always offering a patient ear and giving me honest feedback. And, last but not least, I’d like to thank each of our team members and especially Robert, Carmen and Dianna for your leadership these past four years—the company wouldn’t have reached this point without you.

What’s next for me is that I’ll be a Senior Advisor to the CEO through the end of the year and will then transition out of my full-time role. I won’t be starting another company or job in the near term—I will be on a sabbatical, spending time with my kids.

As I told our team a few weeks ago: it has been an honor building Cricket with you all and I am proud that we’ve brought the company to this point, where there is a huge opportunity for furthering our mission as the new InterWell Health. I feel lucky to have been on this journey with you and am genuinely excited to see all of the impact that you will continue to have for patients with kidney disease 💪🙏
