James D. (Jake) Geleerd is the President and CEO of Tortoise Properties and Tortoise Family Office, with a focus on residential and commercial properties in various US markets.

Jake holds positions as an officer on the Board of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) in Chicago and Denver, a Board Member and Officer of the YPO Golf Network, and a member of Chief Executives Organization (CEO). He also serves on the Board Member and Chairman's Council of the Palm Beach Country Business Development Board (BDB).

Additionally, Jake acts as an Advisor for Avail.co, a premier property management and leasing software, and chairs The Best Ball Club, organizing golf events in multiple cities including Chicago, Phoenix, and Palm Beach.

With a rich professional background, Jake previously held the position of CEO at Rogers Centre/SkyDome in Toronto, home to the MLB Blue Jays and the second home to the NFL Buffalo Bills. He was also the President of Ocean Tomo, a global IP merchant banc, and served as a director at Clark Hill.

Jake's early career includes experience at Sam Zell's Equity Group in the 90s, where he was involved in underwriting, acquiring significant assets and portfolios which led to their public offering as EOP, ELP, and EQR. Furthermore, he is affiliated with several charitable organizations such as the V-Foundation for Cancer Research, JDRF, and U of C, demonstrating his commitment to philanthropy.

Having graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Gies School of Business with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, Jake Geleerd continues to be actively engaged in various business and philanthropic ventures, making notable contributions in the real estate, technology, and social impact sectors.
