James Datri is a seasoned executive with a successful track record of driving growth and innovation in non-profit and media organizations.

With a diverse skill set that spans program innovation, sponsorship and revenue generation, digital and social media marketing, strategic partnerships, P&L leadership, and stakeholder collaboration, James has delivered transformational results at every role he has held.

During his tenure as President & CEO of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), James navigated the organization through financial challenges, quintupled revenue, and elevated key events like the Advertising Hall of Fame and the American Advertising Awards.

He has also made significant contributions as the Executive Director of the Democratic Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, earning recognition as one of the 50 most influential strategists on Capitol Hill.

Recently appointed as the CEO of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), James has led a successful membership expansion initiative and implemented a digital marketing campaign resulting in a substantial increase in new members and renewal rates.

In addition to his executive roles, James has held partnerships at prestigious law firms, co-founded a film and video production company, and established partnerships with renowned global brands such as AT&T, Pepsi, and Disney.

James holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with honors.

His career highlights also include roles as a speechwriter at Democratic National Conventions and legislative director positions in the U.S. House of Representatives.
