→ Executive Assistant to CEO - $180,000 to $220,000+ - Global Communications - Hybrid - Midtown, NY
EA Search is proud to be partnering with a global communications firm, in the search for an Executive Assistant to support the newly-hired CEO in a 1:1 capacity.
This is a phenomenal business - they're true visionaries, huge on culture, and whilst operating on a global scale with over 1,600 employees, they still retain a boutique approach firm-wide. This is a vital hire for the firm, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the fundamentals are handled to an extremely high level, whilst acting as a true right-hand to the CEO.
The successful hire can expect to take on special projects, help to connect the dots across the firm, prepare ahead of important meetings, act as a gatekeeper/buffer on behalf of the CEO, and most importantly, become a key player within the Executive Office.
The CEO himself is fantastic and has been described as a 'culture guru' - responsible for creating, building, and maintaining some of the best corporate cultures across America.
The salary for this role is between $180,000 and $220,000 - with movement for the perfect candidate. You will be expected to be in the office 4 to 5 days in the first few months, until 'business as usual' is figured out between you and the CEO - a more flexible set up will then follow.
Any applicants MUST have experience in the C-Suite, ideally within large corporates, and with high IQ and EQ.

Some companies are unintentionally ruining their EA function, and it's costing them dearly.
We often see a chain reaction: we start speaking to one EA, and within weeks, the entire EA team is looking for new jobs.
Why? Usually, it’s the poor choices and lack of respect of just one or two ‘decision makers’ (probably newly hired), who really do not understand the value EAs add to a firm and its Executives.
These choices end up driving away highly experienced and loyal EAs, and in most cases, the firm only understands the damage caused when it's too late.
This isn't just a loss for the EAs; it's a significant hit to the leadership team. Finding replacements with the same level of loyalty, experience, and chemistry fit is incredibly tough.
The result? The firm ends up struggling, the leadership’s efficiency drops and the overall impact is felt across the business. The firm then scrambles to quickly replace and onboard new EAs, and this is usually the start of a 'revolving door' within the EA function.
Once a firm has a reputation for having a 'revolving door', they'll continuously struggle to attract and retain EAs - even using recruiters isn't a great solution to this problem.
My advice to firms - if you're making cuts or restructuring the admin function, do so gracefully; you really do not understand just how much EAs talk to one another.
Also, if you’re hiring someone who will have some kind of authority over the EA function, make sure you’re confident that they have a genuine understanding of the EA role and the value EAs add.
