ChatGPT is just a distraction 🧠

The 'AI in Go-To-Market' debate overlooks something really obvious. I have no doubt OpenAI's new 'emotional' AI will give rise to ~268 more companies selling sales co-pilots which now better communicate with prospects.

But, the REAL focus should be on how AI can make sense of the reasons behind things.

... In the same way AI makes breakthroughs in medical science by crunching vast amounts commercial data, there's no reason it shouldn't reveal the underlying problems in your GTM data:

  • Why has our ACV shot up?
  • Why is the close rate dipping?
  • What are our best inbound leads?
  • Why do customers churn or upsell?

This is where Infer plugs in to your CRM and gives you the 'why'. The team are building something really exciting in this space. If this sounds interesting, let me know and I can intro!

If we REALLY appreciate BDRs, let's provide better progression routes 📢 #bdrappreciationweek

We can do better than the standard 'SDR ➡️ AE' progression:

Sales Development is not only highly disciplined, but highly generalist. It was also how I got my start.

You build so many skills as an SDR. So, why not a career path beyond 'Closing':

◦ Content: Writing emails can turn them into great copywriters. ◦ Conversion: Analysing prospects and activities helps decide where to focus time. ◦ Community: Speaking your customers' language. Crucial for roles like AM/CS or Product positions.

Let's start seeing SDR as a path into broader SaaS, not just Sales.

What am I missing? (Bonus points if it begins with a C)
