James Morrissey is the Co-founder and President of Mentor Collective, a prominent provider of impact-driven mentoring programs in collaboration with universities, offering students peer, professional, or alumni mentors.

Under James' leadership, Mentor Collective has facilitated over 40,000 mentorships in the past 2 years, resulting in retention enhancements between 1% to 17% at partner institutions.

He is a Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee, a graduate of the Techstars Boston accelerator program, and an active supporter of startups as an advisor and mentor.

James holds a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in Chemistry and Chinese from Carleton College, as well as an MBA with Honors from Quantic School of Business and Technology.

His diverse educational background includes studying at institutions like Nankai University, Shaanxi Normal University, and Tongji University.

Prior to Mentor Collective, James was involved in various roles such as being a mentor at Techstars, a delegate at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017, and a Co-founder of Shearwater via the Techstars Boston program.

His professional journey also includes experiences as a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, a campus campaign coordinator at Teach for America, and a critical language scholar at the U.S. Department of State.

James has engaged in impactful research activities, including neuroinflammation research at Carleton College, prostate cancer epigenetics research at Weill Cornell Medical College, and orthopedics research at Dartmouth Medical School.
