I sense today could be the start of something big for the #offshore #energy sector. #Connected 5G, faster, more #resilient #clean energy generation?
This morning I gave a tour of JET Connectivity's Merida. We heard about how with connectivity we can enable faster #decarbonisation of the energy sector, when supported by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and with industry pull from the Net Zero Technology Centre. We then went up the road to Verlume and saw the fantastic Mocean Energy wave energy converter and the impressive battery platforms being commissioned now.
So many thanks to those that made it today Mark, Cameron, Cameron, Rebecca S., Richard, Andy, Andy M, hopefully we can host another event soon and invite our investors!

Just over a week ago at the RenewableUK #GOW in Manchester the fantastic Offshore Wind Growth Partnership announced the publication of a standardised technology demonstration agreement for the offshore wind sector. This will hopefully enable start-ups and windfarms to find commercial routes to piloting and trialling technology faster in the real world.
I felt quite honoured and very fortunate to have been asked to input (in a small way) and help develop this agreement being championed by Teo, and help share the start-up voice. It certainly felt odd giving this view to Ashurst and Osborne Clarke.
One of thinks I feel quite proud of was pushing for the accompanying guidance document to be generated that hopefully helps translate the legal jargon so that those without council have a better chance at working with windfarms at a lower risk. Fingers crossed this gets projects to sea faster!
