Highlights
I had the pleasure of being a guest on Yoga | Birth | Babies, the podcast from Prenatal Yoga Center. Excited to share the episode with you, where we discuss the use of music and music therapy during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Listen if you're just curious. Listen if you're expecting, recently had a child, or if you're a music lover and intrigued by the idea of music therapy and the use of music in a more individualized way. Also feel free to listen if you want to know more about what I've been up to over the past few years.
Please do share this, as well as the Prenatal Yoga Center and all of their incredible resources (including their fantastic podcast) with anyone who may be going through a pregnancy journey or who may feel supported by this type of content.
As I consider next moves in my own career, I've been diving into articles like this year-old piece from Harvard Business Review which provides insights on what to do when applying for jobs that may not completely align with one's existing skill set when read right from a resume.
An interesting stat provided in the summary highlights some gender differences in the application process which I also found to be interesting, and only have heard anecdotal evidence on previously:
"Would you apply to a job if you didn’t meet all criteria? Research shows that while men and women share similarities in how they browse and look for jobs, women are 16% less likely to apply to a job after viewing it, and also apply to 20% fewer jobs than men. The reason? Women hold back if they don’t meet 100% of the criteria while men usually apply after meeting about 60%."
In digging deeper, this stat seems to come from a Hewlett Packard internal report from almost, or more than a decade ago. I'd love to understand more recent statistics on job applicants and qualification matching, though would also be curious to hear anecdotal experiences as well.
Open to reading other articles on the job search for career shifters if anyone has come across any great ones, and always love hearing thoughts on this topic if you have any!
