Jamie LeSueur is a dedicated Canadian emergency operations manager with a specialization in relief and disaster management, currently holding the position of Head of Emergency Operations (HEOps) at the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies.
With a wealth of experience in managing IFRC operations across sudden onset, protracted, and complex crisis situations, Jamie has focused primarily on the African continent.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies from Mount Royal University, a Master of Social Science in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University with VG Classification, and an IFRC Certificate in Disaster Management from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Jamie is actively engaged in disaster response and coordination, being a member of the UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination team and the IFRC's HEOps-Certified pool, showcasing his commitment and expertise in emergency management.
Throughout his career, Jamie has held various key positions within the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, including roles such as Roving Emergency Operations Manager - Africa, Programmes Manager in South Sudan, Acting Emergency Operations Coordinator in Southern Africa, and Emergency Operations Manager in Zimbabwe.
Before his tenure at IFRC, Jamie served as an International Expert in Disaster Response Management at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Center under the Government of Mauritius, as well as in the capacity of Humanitarian Affairs Office Support in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit at United Nations OCHA.
