Cyber Adversarial Engineer at MITRE

Jamie Williams is a Threat Intelligence Researcher at Palo Alto Networks Unit 42, having joined the company in June 2024.1 Prior to this role, he had a distinguished career at MITRE Corporation, where he served as a Cyber Adversarial Engineer from September 2017 to June 2024.12 During his time at MITRE, Jamie was the MITRE ATT&CK® for Enterprise Lead and a Senior Principal Cyber Operations Engineer.14

In his role at MITRE, Jamie specialized in adversary emulation and behavior-based detections.4 He led teams that helped shape and deliver the "adversary-touch" within MITRE ATT&CK® and ATT&CK Evaluations.24 His work involved various efforts in security operations and research, with a particular focus on adversary emulation.3

Jamie's expertise extends beyond his full-time roles. He has been a member of the IANS Faculty since January 2022.1 Before joining MITRE, he worked as an Analyst at the National Security Agency from June 2014 to September 2017.1

Regarding his education, Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering.1
