Highlights
In all seriousness - that's a good question:
There are many legitimate use cases where ML can operate at a scale that humans can't. ML can find data patterns or solve complex problems that would otherwise would remain mysteries. It will make health care and other industries better and serve our society.
However, what percentage of the never ending 'use AI for...' fill in the blank are really problems that humans are quite capable of handling, often more thoughtfully and with more emotional intelligence. Yet, we short change ourselves.
If only a fraction of the billions thrown at AI solutions would be put into our education system instead, and improve conventional systems, how much better could we make the human world?
Balance training efforts responsibly between humans and LLMs.
Unfortunately that's not an attractive proposition for the money people. And so we invest into artificial solutions that actually make people worse off at everyday situations.
