Jan Neugebauer is a Partner in the Tax Law practice, specializing in national and international tax structuring for corporate entities and alternative investment funds.

His expertise covers private equity, buyout, real estate, and debt funds, advising on various transactions like buyouts, secondary transactions, divestments, distributions, M&A deals, and real estate transactions.

Jan advises on tax aspects of capital market transactions such as IPOs, debt issuances, and structured finance vehicles, and assists funds with investment and operational issues like carried interest and fee structuring.

He guides banks, insurance companies, and asset managers on compliance with regulations like FATCA and CRS relating to the automatic exchange of information.

Jan Neugebauer led the Luxembourg Tax Desk in his firm's New York office before April 2012, assisting North American clients with investments and tax matters in Luxembourg.

He is a member of the Frankfurt Bar in Germany since 2005 and the Luxembourg Bar since 2006. Jan has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Law and Legal Studies from California Western School of Law and a Law degree (Dipl. Jur) from Universit"at Passau.

Previously, he served as a Law Lecturer at the University of Luxembourg and held various roles at Arendt & Medernach, including Partner, Senior Associate, and leading the Luxembourg Tax Desk.
