PROJECT EADEN
Wilmking co-founded PROJECT EADEN with Dr. David Schmelzeisen, a textile engineer.3 The company uses proprietary fiber spinning and compounding technology inspired by the textile industry to create ultra-realistic plant-based meat products.34 Their goal is to develop sustainable meat alternatives that can compete with animal meat in taste, texture, and nutritional benefits.3
Under Wilmking's leadership, PROJECT EADEN has raised significant funding, including a recent €15 million Series A round, bringing their total funding to €27 million.34 The company plans to launch its plant-based ham in 2,000 REWE stores in Germany by mid-2025 and is working on developing additional products such as bacon, pork loins, and beef steaks.4
Wilmking's vision for PROJECT EADEN is to make the switch away from animal meat consumption a "no-brainer" by delivering products that excel in taste, texture, and nutrition while being environmentally sustainable.3
