Janay Fox

PhD Candidate at McGill University

Janay Fox is a highly accomplished individual with a strong academic background.

She completed a BSc with Honours in Genetics and holds a Research Certificate in Biological Research from the University of Alberta.

Throughout her studies, Janay undertook various independent research projects focusing on immunogenetics and behavioural genetics.

Her experience includes studying chronic wasting disease and grey seals under the supervision of renowned researchers like Dr. Debbie McKenzie and Dr. David Coltman.

Additionally, Janay participated in ecological and marine field courses to further enhance her research skills.

In the summer of 2017, she worked as a Radiobiology Intern at the Canadian Nuclear Laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Dmitry Klokov, where she contributed to a project investigating the effects of low dose radiation on colon cancer progression.

During this internship, she also collaborated on a human muscle stem cell project involving tissue culture and fluorescent microscopy techniques with Dr. Sebastian.

Currently, Janay is pursuing a PhD with Neotropical Environmental Options at McGill University, focusing on how the environment influences behavior through epigenetics.

Her dedication to research and her diverse skill set make her a valuable asset to the academic community.
