The recent news about Intuit laying off 1500 people and categorizing 2 thirds of them as "underperforming" has me thinking:
What dick moves have you experienced in a RIF, things your company did that you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy?
On the flip side, what RIF actions have organizations taken that garnered your respect? Share your stories.

Because culture will devour strategy for breakfast …
I am fascinated by organizational culture. I have to be. As a tranformation and change management leader, I find myself either working with it or having to shape it as part of the work I do to accelerate change adoption.
I typically look at collective behaviors and the way decisions are being made to understand the culture of an org. Mostly, because what is written is often not reflective of what is really going on.
However, this week, I came across this gem in a job description:
🤮 We empower you to draw your own boundaries, but reserve the right to ignore them when we see fit.
I am not sure whether to admire the candor, shake my head in disbelief, or just cry-laugh.
Interested in your thoughts… would you have applied?
