Stop throwing away your setup every time someone recommends a new AI tool.

Every week someone tells me I need to try some new Claude Code plugin or workflow system or framework.

And most of them look genuinely impressive.

But here's my problem. I've put 1,000+ hours into tweaking my current setup. I know its quirks. I know where it breaks. I know how to keep it on track. It's far from perfect but it's mine and I'm productive with it.

So I never try any of them.

Which creates a different problem. What if I'm leaving real gains on the table? Some of these recommendations come from people I deeply respect.

Today I realized there's a middle path.

Instead of adopting new tools, I reverse engineer them for ideas.

Here's what I actually do.

I feed Claude Code the article or tweet or GitHub repo someone recommended. I tell it to do a deep dive analysis of what this thing actually does under the hood.

Then I ask one specific question. "What concepts from this could upgrade the system we already have? What would help us produce faster, more consistent, higher quality outcomes with fewer hallucinations?"

It usually surfaces anywhere from zero to ten ideas per source. Some are genuinely useful. Some are not. Claude gets a little optimistic about what qualifies as an upgrade.

So I run a second pass. A gap analysis. Which of these ideas actually solve a problem I have vs a problem I don't?

That filter is where the real value lives.

The result is that I've meaningfully improved my stack multiple times without starting over, without learning a new system, without losing the thousand hours I've already invested.

You don't have to adopt every tool. You just have to learn from them.

I dropped a couple links in the comments if you want to try this yourself. Pick any tool or framework someone's recommended to you, feed it to Claude Code, and see what comes back.

Use Leadsprosper and want to get your data out?

Built an open source Leadsprosper data extractor if anyone needs it.

It uses the internal API's that the frontend uses not the published API's for fast extraction.

I also included a Claude Code skills to assist with the process if you use that.

Link below.

I recommend just giving the repo url to claude code or whatever you use and just tell it to grab it and run the process for you.
