And that brings our SPARK #innovation event with our great partners Equinor, the Nordic Center at UC Berkeley, and the Center for Responsible Business at Berkeley Haas to a close for the day.
But this is just the beginning for offshore floating wind in California! The inspiration and solution pitches from the students have given us a lot to build on as we work to #closethegap and ensure the sustainable and equitable development of offshore wind in California.
In the words of the winning team, “How might we sustainably and equitably grow a skilled, highly educated, and well-paid workforce by unlocking the full potential of California's offshore wind resources by 2045?”
Congratulations to the winning teams and so many thanks to all the brilliant student participants for challenging and energizing us; the team at UC Berkeley for hosting us so generously (Robert Strand ); our partners at Equinor (Paul James Sørheim Kelly E. Boyd) for shaping an engaging problem statement; the unparalleled Ramboll expert team (Tim Fischer, Ulrike Boy, Sarah Katz, Neel Strøbæk, Michael Thorndahl Simmelsgaard, Cheryl Ginyard-Jones, Paul Krause, Neil Webb, MBA, Lis Castillo Nelis, Brandon W. Burke, Amy Malick) for the investment of their time and expertise to support the students; and Amalie Gaard and Ella Murphy for using their facilitation super powers to bring it all together!
