In the hype days of "digital/platform transformations", we saw huge money and huge failure. Folks were often surprised when I cautioned them to consider whether this is what they needed or if they were prepared, as failure rates for these projects were in the ~80% range.
Now we're in the hype days of AI... “By some estimates, more than 80 percent of AI projects fail", according to a recent RAND Corp report. “AI is not a magic wand that can make any challenging problem disappear; in some cases, even the most advanced AI models cannot automate away a difficult task.”
For those of us who oversaw complex and flailing API projects, this all seems rather familiar ;)
Hey y’all, after a 6-month break, I’m refreshed and looking for a new gig. I'd love your ideas on interesting challenges I can help solve to build killer platforms. #OpenToWork
