5 Channels of Marketing for B2B and Manufacturing
- Social Media Marketing
- Email Marketing
- Direct Marketing / Paid Advertising
- Content Marketing
- SEO Often times we get customers asking us to help them invest in SEO. Obviously. SEO is very important. But is it the most important?
Too often companies are eager to spend on SEO before first investing in their landing pages and content.
What good is it to drive traffic to landing pages that don't convert.
First make sure that your pages are ready to receive traffic. Have you identified your persona, the visitor and what they are looking for? Have you defined your purpose, who are you as a brand and what do you offer? Have you declared your position, what makes you different?
If yes, then move on to driving traffic. Obviously direct and paid advertising is practically imperative to B2B and manufacturing companies, but before you can do that, you need content.
Therefore, content marketing ranks highest in order of priority. Without content, you cannot launch effective and efficient ad campaigns, without content, you can't hope to win at SEO.
Now, there is other low hanging fruit you can be working on while getting your content created. Email marketing is one of the easiest and best marketing channels for you because your audience does not need to be prolific, but rather it needs to be specific. And the great thing about B2B is you have a tight community already. You already have good relationships with your dealers, reps, and ASA agents. These people are your customers. Just keep them in the know with news and product information. It is their job to pay attention to this information. It helps them sell. It helps them do their job.
About social media, it is lowest on the list. Of course brand awareness is important but the ROI of SoMe efforts reaps the smallest results. Look at your GA4. What percentage of your goal conversions have come from SoMe leads? Also, do yo have the budget and time to manage SoMe?
So, my point is, be strategic with your marketing and make sure that you are investing in the right order for the best results.
[Corporate Marketing Directors] Before investing in SEO, or any marketing for that matter, are your webpages ready to receive traffic? Have you identified the "One Thing" that you want your visitor's to do when they land there? Do they immediately know that they are it he right place? Can they easily find what they are looking for? What is the Goal of the page and are you tracking that goal as a conversion to ensure that it is performing as you hope? Too often we have potential clients contact us for SEO and marketing services and we help them to make sure that any investment in marketing will convert and not bounce.
