Jay Hallberg is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, known for his advisory roles and board memberships in early-stage bootstrapped and VC-backed B2B companies.

As the former CEO and founder of Spiceworks, Jay successfully raised $111M in capital and generated over $500M in revenue, helping more than 1,000 tech companies enhance their brand presence and expand their customer base.

Under Jay's leadership, Spiceworks became a renowned global community and brand, earning accolades as one of Austin's best workplaces with a thriving workforce of over 1,000 employees.

His expertise extends to strategic advisory roles at organizations like The Linux Foundation and his involvement as a former General Manager of Shasta Elevate at Shasta Ventures.

Jay's educational background includes an MBA in Business from Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with High Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Throughout his career, Jay has held various leadership positions in notable companies like Motive and 3M, showcasing his diverse skill set in marketing, operations, and engineering.

Currently, Jay Hallberg leads Shasta Venture's Elevate Program, while also spearheading his own startup NewCo and engaging in multiple upcoming ventures.

His recent milestone includes the acquisition of Spiceworks by J2 Global in 2019, forming Spiceworks Ziff Davis and further strengthening the presence of the combined entities in the B2B market.
