Jay Steele is a highly accomplished technology entrepreneur and executive with a strong background in founding and leading successful companies in the mobile/wireless industry. In 1996, he founded Plazmic Inc., a company that grew to 40 employees globally and sold 2D graphics technologies in Japan. Serving as the President and CTO, he led the company until its acquisition by Research in Motion in 2001. After leaving RIM, Jay co-founded Viigo in 2004, focusing on RSS and information services technologies. Viigo was later acquired by Research in Motion, where he worked for three years. Following that, he co-founded Velo Industries Ltd., creating innovative mobile products. Currently, Jay holds the position of Software Engineering Manager at Google in Kitchener Waterloo. He pursued studies in Math and Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.
