After an incredible 6+ years, my Uber ride came to an end last Friday. Bittersweet doesn’t begin to cover it.
Uber folks -
When I walked into the DC office in 2014 (in a suit no less! 🤦♂️), I knew I was in for an adventure. And from launching rides all over the US, to CommOps, to DeleteUber, to Driver Forward, to NeMo, & finally to Eats… it was definitely an adventure! We accomplished so much together: ridesharing, food delivery, micromobility, & beyond were still unproven only a few years ago, and today are ubiquitous & critical to the fabric of the lives of cities, riders and earners. All thanks to your hard work.
But when I joined I had no idea that I would be surrounded by truly the best & brightest people I've ever worked with. You all taught me so much: from how to build something amazing from a blank sheet of paper, to how to assemble and lead incredible teams, to how to be resilient and focused even in the toughest times, and so much more. You made it a pleasure to come into the office. You have become many of my closest friends. It’s been my great privilege to work with you all.
So thank you. For everything. It’s been a hell of a ride and I wouldn’t change a thing.
As for what’s next: I’ll be taking some time before starting my next adventure here in the Bay Area.
