Jeff Jensen is an American writer, journalist, and producer. He is known for his work on the TV series Watchmen and the film Tomorrowland.

Early Life and Career

Jensen was born in Seattle, Washington and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He began his career as a reporter for Advertising Age from 1992 to 1998. From 1998 to 2017, he wrote for Entertainment Weekly, covering TV shows like Lost and film franchises like Harry Potter. He was the chief TV critic at Entertainment Weekly from 2013 to 2017.1

Writing and Producing

Jensen is a screenwriter and author based in Lakewood, California. He was a story editor and writer on the HBO series Watchmen, receiving Hugo and Nebula nominations for co-writing the episode "A God Walks Into Abar" with Damon Lindelof.12

He was an executive producer and writer on the Brad Bird film Tomorrowland and co-authored the movie's prequel novel Before Tomorrowland with Jonathan Case.12

Jensen has also written for comic books, with credits including Leaf, Team Titans, X-Factor, and more. His graphic novel Green River Killer: A True Detective Story, drawn by Jonathan Case, won the Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work in 2011.1

Other Works

Jensen has written short stories for various comic anthologies, including Captain America: Red White and Blue, Love Is Love, Planet of the Apes: When Worlds Collide, and Firefly: Watch How I Soar.1

His latest work, Better Angels: A Kate Warne Adventure, illustrated by George Schall, was published by Boom! Studios in October 2021.1
