Jeff Nishinaka, a renowned paper sculptor based in Los Angeles, has gained international acclaim for his intricate and captivating handcrafted creations commissioned by notable private and public entities, as well as celebrities.

Drawing inspiration from a blend of fantasy and reality, Nishinaka's monochromatic works feature ethereal lines and geometric shapes, showcasing his unique artistic vision.

After pursuing his education at the University of California, Los Angeles, and obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Nishinaka embarked on a prolific career in the world of paper sculpting.

Over his remarkable 36-year career, Nishinaka has collaborated with an extensive list of renowned clients, including HBO, Starbucks, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, and MGM Studios, demonstrating his versatility and craftsmanship in creating over 40 custom sculptures for Jackie Chan among others.

His exceptional creations have been showcased in various galleries, public art displays, retail environments, and ad campaigns, earning critical acclaim from art publications worldwide and recognition from esteemed media outlets such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Atlantic.

Nishinaka attributes his enduring success to his profound connection with paper, viewing the medium as possessing an inherent energy and life that he aims to reveal through his artistry.

Embracing a hands-on approach to sculpting, Nishinaka employs simple tools like a pencil, X-Acto knife, and glue, while cherishing the tactile quality and authenticity that manual craftsmanship imbues into his creations.
