Dr. Jemilah Mahmood is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the health sector, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 25 years. A dedicated humanitarian for over two decades, she is renowned as the founder of MERCY Malaysia. Her expertise spans across various domains including Disaster Management, Health, General Management, Strategy, Programming, International Relations, Advocacy, Gender, Innovation, Futures, and Foresight.

Dr. Jemilah Mahmood's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the National University of Malaysia, along with further studies in General Management from IMD's Business Programs and Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in the UK.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Mahmood has held numerous distinguished positions such as serving as a Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Malaysia on Public Health, Under Secretary-General (Partnerships) at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Chief of the World Humanitarian Summit Secretariat at the United Nations, Senior Fellow at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Humanitarian Futures Programme, Chief of the Humanitarian Response Branch at UNFPA, Member of the CERF Advisory Group, National Member in the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination, and as President and Founder of MERCY Malaysia. She has also contributed to healthcare as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital.
