“Say yes to new adventures” is a fitting quote for my first day in a new role. Thankful for the opportunity and the warm welcome to my first day working with the Office of Patient Experience at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Today, I was able to help assist in coordinating arrangements for a patient on end of life care to marry the love of his life in our ICU. Having the opportunity to help in any capacity I can to impact patients and their loved ones in such tender and vulnerable moments is a privilege. Humanizing experiences like this are the reason I am so grateful to continue my journey in #patientexperience

Celebrating our Most Improved unit for Cleanliness & Food Quality with our #BigPicture Award always puts a smile on my face. Moments like this are are exactly what I had crossed my fingers and hoped would unfold when I kicked off our monthly Big Picture Award celebration many months ago. The concept is simple; EVERY person with whom a patient interacts has their own responsibility and duty to the patient, or their 'piece of the puzzle'. Only when we all join together do we get a cohesive #patientexperience-- and with even one piece missing the picture would be incomplete! Everyone must be bought-in and collaborative for optimal patient experience (AND #employeeexperience !). Thank you to our Dining Associates, EVS aides, PCTs, nurses, and ALL partners in care contributing their piece of the puzzle by looking out not only look out for our patients, but for one another. #ThePowerOfFood #KeepersOfTheHouse #HealthcareHeroes #recognitionawards
