Jennifer Connolly

Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Miami

Jennifer Connolly is a dedicated public management scholar with a research focus on local governance and local government management.

Her interdisciplinary approach draws on public administration, public policy, and political science literature to explore how local governments can create responsive policies and deliver services effectively, efficiently, and equitably.

Jennifer's research agenda includes studying the principal-agent relationship between elected councils and appointed managers, municipal service provision and resource allocation, and communication between local governments and residents on policy issues.

She holds a PhD in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern California and teaches various courses in public administration and statistical analysis for public management at the University of Miami.

Jennifer has a strong educational background with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from Elon University, a Master of Political Science Coursework from The University of Georgia, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Policy and Management from USC.

Her professional experience includes roles such as Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami, Research Consultant at Pew Research Center, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Miami, and various teaching and research assistant positions at USC and UGA.

Jennifer has also been involved in tutoring, editorial work, public relations, polling, and banking roles showcasing her diverse skill set and interests.
