Jennifer McLellan
CCR Coordinator at Mercer Island School District
Jennifer McLellan is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background. She studied Biology, Genetics, and Geology at Whitman College as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Grantee. Continuing her education, she pursued a Certification in secondary education and teaching at Seattle Pacific University. Additionally, she obtained an Advanced Bachelor of Arts in Biology and History from Occidental College and completed a CTE Director Internship in Education at Central Washington University.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has been actively involved in various organizations. She has served as the CCR Coordinator, Band Curriculum and Organizational Support Manager, Teacher of International Entrepreneurship, Co-Advisor for DECA, Teacher of the Student Store, and more at the Mercer Island School District. Furthermore, she has contributed her time and expertise as an Elder for Ministry to Children and their Families at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. Her engagement extends to various roles such as VP Senior Activities at Mercer Island High School PTSA, President at National Charity League Lake Washington, Chair at MIPC Mexico Auction, and Co-President of the Mercer Island PTA Council.
Jennifer has also demonstrated her leadership and commitment to community service through roles such as Co-Chair of the Mercer Island Beach Club Swim Team, Co-Leader of the Bridge the Gap Task Force, President of the Island Park PTA, Secretary and Board Member of the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society, and Co-Chair of various fundraising events like Island Park Hand-in-Hand Auction, Island Park Metrathon/Steps for School, and Island Park PTA Book Fair. Additionally, she has been actively engaged as a Director of Logos at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church and a Board Member and Secretary at CASA/GAL.
Before her involvement in education and community service, Jennifer gained experience as a Teacher in the Mead School District and Lake Washington School District. She also worked in the retail sector, serving as Salesperson, Cashier, and Stock Lead at Nordstroms. Her diverse skill set is further highlighted by her experience as a Ski Instructor at Powderpigs.
