Jennifer Riel

Jennifer Riel is an Adjunct Professor and Executive-in-Residence at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She also serves as the Global Director of Strategy at IDEO, where she focuses on creative problem solving and strategic design across various industries and countries.135

At Rotman, Riel has been instrumental in teaching integrative thinking and design thinking, particularly through her work with the Martin Prosperity Institute. She has developed and led workshops for both public and private sector organizations globally and has collaborated closely with Roger Martin, a prominent figure in the field of integrative thinking. Together, they co-authored the book Creating Great Choices: A Leader’s Guide to Integrative Thinking, which has received significant acclaim, including being a Wall Street Journal bestseller.124

Riel holds an MBA from the Rotman School, which she obtained in 2006, and prior to her academic career, she worked in project management and copywriting in the retail and non-profit sectors.13
