Highlights
The release last week of the hostages held by Russia was great news. Hostage situations are always challenging and there usually aren't clean outcomes where only the good guys win, it's almost always, literally, a trade-off. In this piece, which I co-authored with Don Aviv, CPP, PSP, PCI, we discuss the dynamics of these difficult policy challenges with a bit of historical context as well.
I’m pleased to announce that my book Sell Like a Spy is available for preorder with a release date of August 27th.
Sell Like a Spy is part memoir, part business book. It recounts my experience overseas as a journalist and my work in the corporate security industry. Both of those experiences, but in particular the corporate work, exposed me to the world of intelligence, military, and law enforcement and I learned so much from these people. The book itself is a synthesis of many of those learnings and my hope is that by reading it people will come away with new methods to connect with those in both their careers and everyday lives. The book uses many colorful examples to illustrate the skills I write about, so my hope is also that it is a really fun and compelling read.
There have been so many extraordinary people who have helped me with this book. From its earliest days as simply an idea, to the writing of the book and the many interviews, on to the blurbs that I’ve been lucky enough to collect, and I look forward to sharing details about the book in the coming months.
This is a link to the book page on my website and it has some links to where you can purchase the book. While I order from Amazon regularly, I do try to buy from smaller book shops occasionally and want to include a suggestion to do so if you can.
Huge thanks to Diversion Books!
Thank you for considering the book and I look forward to hopefully speaking with many of you about it.
