Highlights
Mitigating scope 3 emissions is imperative, not only in achieving our climate objectives, but also in assuring supply chain stability and managing business risk. Climate change has a significant impact on agricultural supply chains (with outsized impact on more vulnerable communities). There was a really great study a few years ago identifying the year when extreme yield outcomes become normal across global commodities in different regions (I will link it below).
There is a balance in identifying where conservational practices can reduce yield volatility and where financing crop transition planning will best support the next generation of growers. More on this through the link below on how your team can reduce emissions, mitigate climate risks, and ensure long-term success with Regrow Ag's latest guide:
Thank you to SNAC International and U.S. Soy for the opportunity to share about DTN's Sustainability Marketplace and collaboration with Farmers for Soil Health, the National Corn Growers Association and the National Pork Board. Through a Climate-Smart Commodity grant we are providing ~$70M in incentives to growers adopting cover cropping and conservation tillage, targeting the 125M acres of corn and soy in the US. Because of the complexities of sustainable practice adoption, the program also includes technical assistance and agronomic advising to ensure long-term profitability and sustainability for the participating growers. We are actively looking for partners to build out this marketplace. Please get in touch if you are interested.
