Design roles have changed a lot in the last 2-3 years. I see applicants' portfolios seem to be stuck in the "problem-research-wireframe-final" cycle. That was 2018. 2024 is different. Sadly, schools are slow to catch up with the industry. Something is seriously wrong when all young designers come out with similar-looking portfolios.

I've been thinking about how I can help creatives get their industry skills up to speed. I'm considering creating a small fund to help people hit milestones together. A 30-day or 50-day challenge to solve problems together. What do you think?

Playbook is hiring a multi-disciplinary designer/developer who doesn't fit the typical corporate job description and would prefer to learn business on the job rather than pay $200K for an MBA.

There's nothing more exciting than learning on the job.

New grads might be a bit too early for this role atm but stay tuned for future openings!
