It was a privilege to join leadership from across our community at our World Energy Council Centennial Awards on the eve of our 26th World Energy Congress this week. The excitement was palpable as we honored the achievements and actions of Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Vaclav Smil, Barefoot College International and our founder Daniel Nicol Dunlop, pioneer of the first World Power Conference in 1924. And I personally fan-girl'ed over the incomparable Mary Robinson, who continues to inspire and motivate everyone she crosses paths with.

A special thanks to John Defterios for keeping us all entertained, and thanks to all who turned out to help us celebrate the visionary and practical leadership achievements needed to build and transform energy systems for the greater good of people and planet, peace and progress.
