"De helderheid van de verantwoordelijkheid van water..." Say that three times fast... Recently, I had the privilege of participating in the workshop for water management track at the #DeNieuweBoer2023 event in Ede with Sensoterra. We discussed the importance of #watergovernance and managing the balance between freshwater supply and demand for all stakeholders - agriculture, urban consumption, industry, and nature.

Growers across the world are under increasing pressure to respond to market demand, and dwindling resources. And today's 'New Farmer' is bringing integrated practices and diversification for the benefit of the land, ecology, and their businesses. There are a so many tools out there that promise the world, but their use comes in reliability that land managers, and growers in particular, don't need to think about them to support their (hundreds of) daily management decisions.

It was an inspiring event to see how years of experience, technology, and the drive towards (agro)ecological conservation are combining to add to the wheelhouse of 'New Farmer'.

Exciting to see the ideas and adoption of diversification for sustainable farming! #watermanagement #sustainablefarming #agriculture #agroecology #conservation #nieuwenetwerk #precisionfarming #regenerativeagriculture

Great to see the developments from Delphy and Wageningen University & Research and the #fieldlab at the #verticalfarming conference!

The big question we’re all asking: how the vertical farm industry will develop in the coming years - going beyond the hype!

I especially enjoyed the talks from Lisanne Meulendijks and Henry Gordon-Smith - considering both the plant biology aspect and the sustainability of a burgeoning ag industry.
