Highlights
I'm bursting with excitement to share the incredible news: Three out of the four Duke undergrads who clinched the prestigious Goldwater Scholarships this year hail from our CS department or have been working closely with our CS professors.
Heartfelt congratulations to all four students, but I want to shine a special spotlight on Ayush Jain, Michelle Si, and Marie-Hélène Tomé for their truly remarkable achievements as CS students or working on CS research. Personally, I'm deeply honored to be mentioned twice in the news article alongside such extraordinary students.
Witnessing these outstanding award winners, alongside countless other undergrads within our department or collaborating with our faculty, pushing the boundaries of research and achieving phenomenal breakthroughs is nothing short of exhilarating. Our unwavering dedication to mentoring undergraduate research by our faculty will continue to propel our students towards realizing their fullest potential in both knowledge exploration and career advancement.
We are thrilled to announce Jiawei's upcoming visit to Duke and the Research Triangle Park region as a Triangle Computer Science Distinguished Lecturer. I am confident that his insights on LLMs and data mining will be both inspiring and well-received. We invite you to join us for this enlightening talk and encourage you to share the news with others.
