Jill Freidberg, based in Seattle, WA, is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in documentary film production, archival research, youth media education, oral history projects, and public art. With a career spanning since the '90s, Jill has an impressive portfolio, including award-winning documentaries, PBS series, radio features, and oral history initiatives.

She currently serves as the co-director of the Seattle Black Spatial Histories Institute at Wa Na Wari and as the Digital Media Editor at History Link. Her ongoing project, the Shelf Life Community Story Project, involves a book of neighborhood oral histories highlighted by illustrations from Central District artists.

Jill's bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, coupled with her background in southern Mexico, has led her to produce, direct, and edit compelling documentaries. Beyond her filmmaking endeavors, she imparts her knowledge by teaching documentary film production, oral history, and audio storytelling at the University of Washington Bothell.

Her educational background includes a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oregon and a Certificate of Excellence in Film Production from the Vancouver Film School. Jill's work ethos revolves around championing social justice and ethical storytelling practices that foster understanding and connections within and beyond communities.
