Highlights
Strong city partnerships lead to reliable alternatives to cars 🚲 🛴. What I’ve valued most from my job is the sense of fulfilment when entering and building upon meaningful partnerships with the towns and cities we serve 🤝 🏙.
Since my first day at Voi UK I’ve played a part in working closely with stakeholders at Solent Transport, Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council to ensure we’re working closely together to provide a safe, sustainable and reliable service to thousands of people each day.
We’re committed to making it easier for people to get around without the need for a car. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved in Southampton and Portsmouth where people of all ages and from all walks of life are using Voi e-scooters to get to work, health appointments and see friends often in combination with walking and hopping on/off the bus.
There have been a number of highlights when working in the region including introducing first-time riders to e-scooters, expanding the eligibility of discounts to veterans and military personnel, and working closely with charitable organisations such as Southampton Sight to minimise any unintended barriers facing pedestrians.
It’s now exciting to see this partnership go from strength to strength with today’s announcement that from 1 July we’ll be building further on the scheme by expanding to the Isle of Wight Council and introducing our latest e-bikes to the region!
For those not living in the Solent area, I hope you’re able to visit the region soon to experience first-hand the benefits of providing a strong multi-modal service. Huge thanks to all those from in and outside Voi who have together made this possible!
