Last month, my team and I had an amazing experience at the 2024 WEConnect International APAC Conference in Brisbane.

The two-day event focused on:

→ Supplier diversity → Networking sessions linking buyers with suppliers → Opportunities & challenges for women-owned businesses

We loved connecting with women-owned businesses, industry leaders, and organisations that drive positive change across the APAC region 🐑

It also made us realize we need a few extra business cards next time 😄

Another big highlight was the signing of an MoU between WEConnect International, Supply Nation, and Social Traders.

Over the next 3 years, they'll work together to strengthen:

  • Social enterprises
  • Indigenous businesses
  • Women-owned businesses

and the intersections that exist between these groups marking a stronger collaboration 🎉

While there’s still so much work to be done, collaborations like these are a step in the right direction for breaking barriers.

I wholeheartedly encourage my fellow female entrepreneurs and community to explore the #WomenOwned business certification by WEConnect International.

Till next time! 🐑

PS. As more businesses strive for diversity, are we doing enough to address the real challenges women-owned businesses face globally, or is it just a box to check?

3 things you can do today to transform your eco-anxiety into action:

  1. Support NGOs like Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) who work daily on issues like marine conservation, sustainable fisheries, and combating marine pollution.

  2. Reflect on your consumption. Our daily choices of what we eat, buy & consume make a huge difference.

  3. Talk about it. Share how you feel with 1 person this week. By having these conversations, you might find a tribe of like-minded folks.

Eco-anxiety is becoming a wider spread feeling among many people right now.

And the best way to deal with it is thoughtful action.

What else would you add to the list?
