Highlights
Three years ago I was given a life-changing opportunity by Michael Smith to work alongside many exceptional service men and women. The one thing that I can say for certain is that their ingenuity and creativity far exceeded well-educated PhDs I had previously worked with. So, I wrote this paper not to talk about a specific technology but to illuminate the human potential that will transform our understanding of battlespace technology.
Someone once asked me why I wrote, and I answered with a quote by Sylvia Plath - “I write only because there is a voice within me that will not be still.”
I hear the voice of the people who fight against stovepiping bureaucracy, and I track the scent of the paths that connect them. I see the creative plays of the battlespace logic by the warfighters at the frontline trace, and I feel the fractals of possibilities across all warfighting domains. I hope I have done a reasonable job culminating the genius I have learned from - enough to make up for any shortcoming from my limited ability to grasp such a complex topic.
Michael Smith, Phil Kapusta, jj snow, and Olivia Garard, were among the many people who helped me wrangle my hurricane of ideas. I am eternally grateful for their time and patience that made the publication of this work possible.
Our friends at Sherpa 6 are hiring software developers. I can’t say enough good things about this team and their mission, and moving to Colorado is just a bonus. Reach out to me or apply directly if you’re interested.
