Jody Shulnak is a dedicated International Education professional whose journey in education and community development began from a transformative experience as an academic intern in rural South Africa. This early exposure to the challenges and rewards of community recreation programs and preschool education shaped her passion for international education. Over the past 17 years, Jody has built a robust career, making significant contributions in various roles within the field of global education.

Currently, she serves as the Associate Director of International Programs at Clark College, where she plays a pivotal role in developing and managing international education initiatives that enhance the learning experiences of students and faculty alike. Her previous positions at Clark College include International Student Recruitment & Outreach Manager, where she successfully attracted and supported international students, as well as Service-Learning & Volunteer Program Manager, leading impactful service projects that further community engagement.

Education and Achievements

Jody Shulnak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks & Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University, which provided her with a strong foundation in community development and program management. She further advanced her expertise by earning a Master of Science in International Conflict Resolution at Portland State University. This combination of education equips Jody with the necessary skills to navigate complex international environments and effectively contribute to the resolution of global challenges through education and collaboration.

In 2019, Jody was honored to receive a prestigious Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Seminar grant to Taiwan. This esteemed award allowed her to delve into the Taiwanese education system, particularly focusing on study abroad and exchange programs. Her experiences during the Fulbright grant not only enhanced her understanding of global education practices but also facilitated the exploration of institutional partnerships. Another highlight of Jody’s career includes her role as the Founder & Director of the Shulnak Village School Project where she led initiatives aimed at enhancing educational access for underprivileged communities. Additionally, she has extensive experience as an English Language Instructor in varied educational settings, including the DOGGA Adult Education Centre and Sneeuwitjie Creche, where her instructional capabilities have positively impacted the lives of many learners.
