One of the consequences of information overload is we're expected to be sort-of-experts on everything...
This isn't good for us and it also doesn't work
For example, I know very little about:
Agriculture and food production Finance at macro levels (countries/territories) Fashion* Video gaming and esports The exceptional fertility of naked mole rats
*on this topic, I don't just know nothing, I actually am in debt, as anyone who's seen me dress can confirm
Learning about these things is interesting to me, so I occasionally read about them, watch a video, or listen to a Twitch livestream about mole rat fertility... but I don't try to acquire all the knowledge or, when something consequential involving them comes up, do anything other than say "we should probably find Doctor of Mole Ratology to advise on this."
I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's ok to not know things...it's good not to know things...it's great not to know things, and to take a break and let someone else figure out what's important or meaningful because it's not your lane.
