Joe Dalton

Joe Dalton was the proprietor of Joe's Wine Cellar, a wine shop located at 2108 W. Division Street in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.1 He opened the store in June 2012 after retiring from a 30-year career in telecommunications sales, where he had worked as a VP of wholesale sales at Quest Communications.1

Joe, who was 61 years old when he opened the wine shop, was inspired to start the business after developing a love for wine during his corporate career, which involved extensive travel and exposure to fine dining.1 He purchased a six-unit building on Division Street, using the storefront for his wine shop while renting out the residential units above.1

Joe's Wine Cellar catered to a demographic of young professionals in their late 20s who were transitioning from craft beer to wine.1 The shop offered a range of wines, including both affordable options and more upscale selections.1

In late 2021, Joe Dalton retired and sold Joe's Wine Cellar to new owners Craig Perman and Seth Wilson.23 The new owners have since rebranded the business as Le Midi, transforming it into a sit-down wine bar and tasting room with a Mediterranean focus.23
