Joe Doctor is a social change strategist with a strong focus on transforming American K-12 education to achieve excellent and equitable student outcomes.

His expertise lies in strategy development and implementation within nonprofit, public, and philanthropic organizations, with a specific emphasis on improving teaching and learning.

Joe holds a Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) degree in System-Level Leadership and Teacher Quality from Harvard Graduate School of Education, as well as a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University.

Previously, Joe Doctor has held various key roles at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, including Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President for Strategy and Policy, Vice President for Strategy and Policy, and Doctoral Leadership Fellow / Special Assistant to the President.

He has also gained experience as a Summer Fellow in Talent Management at the Los Angeles Unified School District and as a Manager, Case Team Leader, Consultant, Senior Associate Consultant, and Associate Consultant at The Bridgespan Group.
